About this role

Manage bookkeeping, tax compliance, payroll, investments, expenses, and reporting. Support tax filing, risk management, and software research.

Bookkeeping: Categorize financial transactions bi-weekly or more frequently as needed.

Tax Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure timely payment of taxes and assist in preparing annual tax filings.
  • Ensure financial compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for audits or regulatory reviews.
  • Monitor investment risks and alert management to any red flags.

Payroll Support:

  • Provide assistance in processing payroll and managing related tax obligations.
  • Support on questions regarding unemployment benefits and other employee questions.

Investment Monitoring:

  • Track and monitor investments for a Single Member LLC and Limited Partnership using account statements (no valuation required).
  • Complete subscription documents for new fund investments.
  • Maintain organized records of investment activity.

Expense Tracking and Payment:

  • Categorize, track, and oversee payment to vendors and contractors.
  • Manage recurring expenses, subscriptions, and service contracts.
  • Oversee business credit card or expense reimbursements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee and record the limited expenses associated with the LLC.

Business Reporting:

  • Prepare and update monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance Sheets for financial visibility.
  • Generate periodic cash flow reports and expense summaries.
  • Assist in financial forecasting and budgeting based on historical data.
  • Provide ad hoc financial reports to support business decisions.
  • Provide cash flow forecasting to support financial planning.
  • Ensure proper documentation for investment activities.

Tax Filing Preparation:

  • Assist in compiling necessary financial data to support the CPA in filing tax returns for the LLC and LP.
  • Support on depreciation schedules, asset tracking, etc.

Software and Tools: Research financial tools and/or software as appropriate.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Enrolled Agent equivalent certification is a plus but not required.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with small business or investment entities.
  • Familiarity with investment tracking and fund subscription documents.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Both Online and Desktop).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
